Mass Storage - Q & A

How reliable are the drives ?

Mass Storage drives come fitted with high quality branded drives for reliability and resilience. We know how important data is to you and as such only the highest quality parts are used in the manufacture of the supplied unit's - giving you peace of mind where ever you go.

I'm going on holiday where I will be in remote areas - is this device suitable ?

Prefect ! - In fact these units will come in to it's own whilst your in these types of locations, we have lots of people using these on location shoots and in the remotest of areas, even recently the Artic !

How easy are these to use, my limitations are point shoot and click right now.

No problem, insert your full card, push button, answer YES backup card, finished ! It really is that easy, from Students, Professional Photographers to cruise goers - mass storage at some level will fit the bill.

What are the operation limitations of the device.

Power, if you have no access you only have the life of the battery, check on the model specifications how long a fully charged battery will last for you on location, you can always carry more fully charged batteries, available for most model's. All units operate at 110v - 240v - so wherever you are in the world you can re-charge the unit ready for use, we even sell car chargers if there is no fixed mains power source you can run the unit from the cigarette lighter socket in the car. Other than this there are no other limits.

Any tips ?

Yes, if you are going on a group holiday, for example sunny Florida to see Mickey Mouse and there are several travellers each with a Digital Camera - rather than all spend £30-£60 on a new card for each camera, buy a unit to share. It is more reliable, more secure and will hold 20 x the photo's for everyone and the good thing about it, it needs no PC and can read every card on the market (check model).

Can I view my pictures ?

The high end devices have colour screens to view pictures and TV output (NTSC & PAL), other models will only allow file view.

How do I decide which unit ?

Consider the following when making your decision, Your media type, How long will you be away for ?, How many pictures will you take (Day x length of stay and at what million pixel) Use our tables to establish your capacity requirements. Decide if you need the extra functions, Folder  creation, MP3, Colour screen, TV output etc...
